About

Introduction

As the passionate owner of Sweetgrass Assessments, I am part of a growing initiative dedicated to enhancing understanding and support for neurodiverse individuals using strength-based assessments and approaches. I have a master’s degree in Adult Education & Global Change, specializing in curriculum development and educational coaching, with an eight-month certificate course from Landmark College. This certification focused on Learning Differences and Neurodiversity (LDN) with key courses such as “Understanding and Supporting Diverse Learners,” “Academic Strategies for Students with LD, ADHD, and Autism,” and “Student Engagement and Self-Regulation.” My studies culminated in a Capstone project that integrated innovative methodologies into my work with neurodifferent students.

Professional Experience

With a master’s degree in Adult Education & Global Change, specializing in curriculum development and educational coaching, Delaney boasts over ten years of experience as an instructor and trainer. She has successfully created and delivered specialized training programs for diverse audiences, tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs of individuals from various cultural backgrounds and those facing personal and professional challenges.

Focus on Neurodiversity

My work at Sweetgrass Assessments is pivotal in addressing a markedly underserved market. My work focuses on working with neurodivergent individuals struggling with their educational journey. Neurodiversity is the concept that neurological differences, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and others, are natural variations of the human brain and should be recognized and respected as part of human diversity. It emphasizes that these differences are not inherently deficits but rather unique ways of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world.

The Neurodiversity Movement

The neurodiversity movement advocates for inclusivity, acceptance, and support for neurodivergent individuals, highlighting their strengths and capabilities while addressing the challenges they may face. It promotes the idea that society should adapt to accommodate these differences, rather than expecting neurodivergent individuals to conform to a neurotypical standard. Ultimately, neurodiversity fosters a more inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and experiences.

Advocacy and Innovation

I am a strong advocate for recognizing neurodivergence as both an identity and a source of exceptional ability. I emphasize the importance of inclusive practices that involve neurodivergent individuals in conversations about their experiences and needs. My recent work also explores the intersection of neurodiversity and artificial intelligence, examining ethical considerations and practical applications within training and development.

Commitment to Change

My innovative approaches and unwavering dedication are focused on transforming the landscape of neurodiversity support, paving the way for greater understanding and acceptance in educational and professional settings.
